1. Intact Bridge Section (Entry Side)
Stable ground, waist-high crumbled railing (half cover).

2. Collapsed Gap (25 ft wide)
Floating stone chunks drift slowly in circular patterns.

• Acrobatics DC 14 to leap across moving platforms

• Fall = 200 ft drop (or magical wind suspends them 40 ft down — your call)

3. Suspended Debris Field
Four floating 5x5 platforms that rotate at initiative 20.

4. Opposite Side Tower Ruin
Cracked watch post with broken ballista and partial roof.

What’s Happening?

A gravity anomaly has formed beneath the bridge after a fragment of a shattered sky-crystal embedded itself in the canyon wall.

The crystal is attracting creatures that feed on arcane instability.

When half the party reaches the midpoint…

The debris rises into combat formation.

⚔ Encounter Options

Level 3–4 Party

• 2 Harpies (using canyon echoes)

• 1 Animated Armor (reassembled from fallen bridge pieces)

• Gusts of wind (DC 13 STR save or slide 5 ft)

Level 5–7 Party

• 1 Gargoyle

• 2 Harpies

• Gravity Pulse (initiative 20): all creatures make DC 15 DEX save or fall prone

Level 8–10 Party

• 1 Galeb Duhr (emerges from canyon wall)

• 2 Gargoyles

• Reverse Gravity surge (one 15-ft radius flips for 1 round)

🌪 Environmental Mechanics

Shifting Platforms

Arcane Crystal Core (Optional Objective)

At initiative 20:

• Platforms rotate 90 degrees.

• Creatures must succeed DC 14 Acrobatics or move with the platform involuntarily.

Located embedded in canyon wall below bridge.

• Can be destroyed (AC 15, 40 HP).

• Doing so stabilizes gravity but causes bridge to begin collapsing.

🎭 Roleplay Twist

The gravity crystal is not natural.

It is a fragment of a shattered floating city.

If studied (Arcana DC 17):

• Reveals coordinates to another sky ruin.

• Glows brighter near characters with magical items.

Destroying it prevents creatures from gathering here — but removes a powerful arcane resource.
