Grelda Stormjaw is the no-nonsense owner of The Broken Compass, a weathered but welcoming tavern in Tide’s End. A former privateer, Grelda sports a thick braid of silver-streaked black hair, a missing left eye covered by a leather patch, and a collection of sailor tattoos that tell tales of a life at sea. Her broad frame and rough hands hint at years of hauling rigging and brawling in dockside brawls. Though her voice is a gravelly growl, her hearty laughter and deep-seated care for her patrons make her a beloved figure in the village.

Grelda knows all the rumors that flow through her establishment and keeps a wary eye on strangers. She’s fiercely protective of her people and will not hesitate to grab her trusted cutlass from behind the bar if trouble stirs.

Roleplaying Grelda:

If approached for information, she expects a fair trade either coin, a favor, or a good story. She has a soft spot for sailors and adventurers with an honorable streak. If trouble breaks out in her tavern, she’ll personally end it—often by grabbing a troublemaker and throwing them out the door.
